The Resurrection Story at a Glance

Resurrection Baptist Church (RBC) is comprised of a body of believers who affirm the Holy Bible, in its entirety, as the infallible word of God.  We commit ourselves to glorify God through worship and instruction (Heb 10:25), to observe His ordinances of Communion and Baptism (Luke 22:19, Matt 28:19), to walk by faith in fellowship with Him (2 Cor. 5:7), and to share the gospel of salvation to all mankind (Acts 1:8).

RBC's phenomenal growth, both spiritually and numerically, is proof of God’s continual blessing and favor - to God be the glory.

For a brief description of our “beginnings”, “purpose, “vision”, “mission”, and “goal”, select the tabs below.

RBC was established in July 1983.  RBC's first worship service was held in an Elementary School in Converse Texas.  Between 1983 and 2002, RBC conducted weekly worship services, bible studies, and provided evangelistic ministries from five different locations in the San Antonio area.  In September 2002, RBC moved to 1002 Live Oak Road, Schertz Texas.  This 26,000 sq. ft. multi-purpose facility services a growing membership over 3000.

To endeavor to communicate God’s word to lost sinners, incorporate people into God’s family, illuminate them to God’s will, and motivate them to show God’s love through service, that we may celebrate God’s presence.

To evangelize, disciple and deploy committed followers to the ministry of Jesus Christ, and in a unified effort with various ministries and organizations, share God's love and truth from the greater Randolph area to the ends of the earth.

To reach the lost at any cost, introducing them to the saving grace of our Lord.

To unite the church (body of Christ) in worship and in work.

Core Values

So what makes RBC unique?  Some churches are driven by tradition - their famous phrase is “we’ve always done it this way.”  At RBC we're not afraid to try something different if it means being more effective for Christ.  So in addition to being “Purpose Driven”, RBC is also “value Driven”.  Our approach to ministry is based on specific underlying assumptions, beliefs, and values that make us unique.  At RBC, we have developed a set of 16 Core Values to function by.  We apply these Core Values to everything that we do.  Below find a brief description of the areas that we value and make us unique:

Making scripture a part of life.  God wants His truth turned into action and His doctrine turned into deeds.

We exist to serve.  The highest calling of any Christian is the calling to be a servant.

It is a good testimony for a Christian to produce superior quality.  RBC strives for excellence in everything we do, in connecting, in growing, in serving, in sharing, and in worshipping.

Scripture tells us that “A fool thinks he needs no advice, but a wise man listens to others…”.  We strive to know the condition of the flock and the only way to effectively do this is to encourage feedback.

RBC is intentionally transparent.  This means that in many ways, we purposely permit ourselves to be vulnerable – we want to be exactly what we appear to be.  We do this because we believe that our public and private image must match.

RBC is a church without pretense.  We have intentionally tried to remove barriers and protocol so that people will feel open, casual, and welcome.

We build on strengths so that weaknesses become irrelevant.  We believe that everybody has something to contribute.  Our objective is to find, free, release, and liberate your gifts.

We respect the individuality that God has made into everyone of us.  Scripture tells us to “Accept one another just as Christ has accepted you.”  At RBC we strive to compliment and not compete.

We believe that learning is a lifestyle and does not end once academic schooling is completed.  God desires that we continuously learn, especially about Him, His Word, and His ways.

We pursue simplicity in everything we do.  Our challenge is to keep our service simple.

When you study the ministry of Jesus, He sent people out in two’s.  He wanted it clear to us that we could overcome any ministry challenge when we share the responsibility with others.

RBC is neither intimidated nor frightened to try something new.  Failure here is not reaching a goal, it is not trying at all.

We believe that humor is the ability to laugh at yourself.  An unfortunate truth about our spiritual health is that too many of us take ourselves too seriously and don’t take God seriously enough.

This is just another word for faith.  That is, believing that God not only can do it, that He will do it, or that He is doing it.  We believe in expecting great things from God and are not afraid of attempting great things for God.

RBC’s motto is “Win the lost at any cost.”  What is a soul worth?  If Jesus thought enough of a soul to die for it, surely we can commit ourselves to make sure he/she hears about the One who died for them.

There is not a more significant commitment that you can make, then to give all you have to the cause of Christ.  We challenge and help people to seek an ever deeper relationship with their Savior.

RBC is a place of worship and service “where GOD is glorified, JESUS is magnified, and the HOLY SPIRIT satisfies”.
